A _ Bench

The German ale bench 
is a well known, robust and useful seat,
but are still flaws to work on.

We wanted to enhance the stability so that you can´t tip the bench over
if you sit on the far end.

We only had 1m² of a 0,75mm thick metal sheet to work with.

First we planned the bench in Illustrator.
And than we used the laser to cut the metall sheet.

After cutting it we just had to fold it 
into the three dimensional shape.

The legs are angled slightly outwards 
in two directions, to balance the bench.

It supports itself with tension strings.
If you fold the legs inside
they match up with the wooden bar.
